Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Well, between ND giving 4 weeks vacation and Sheryl getting a cake, I feel like I am under-appreciated at work this week.

Oh, me too! Although one of my newer co-workers very kindly pulled me into a meeting with a contracting firm, and made it clear she would be happy if they hired me. Since they've done a lot of work for her and she's likely to be the agency lead on the contract, that's really very valuable.

I gave her some of my salted caramels, but seriously I owe her dinner.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That ice was amazing. In the terrifying way but also nature is pretty powerful way. Wish I'd muted though.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I loved the sound of the ice in that video -- wish the audio had been clearer, but there was definitely not only a chug-chug-chug from the waves pushing it onshore but a delicate tinkling from the ice breaking.

Now we know how glaciers get started....

brillig

I was amazed at how fast the ice was moving.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

It's amazing how a gardening club can be so inept at gardening. Silly rich housewives. After they left, me and boss replanted about 50% of what they planted (how is it a good idea to plant the Christmas Ferns two inches below soil level?!). And they were doing crazy things liking picking up a placed pot from where it should be planted, and putting it elsewhere in the planting bed, and then they or someone else would plant that plant there (as in: in the completely wrong spot) and soon the whole area was planted with plants in the wrong spot.

It's crazy that apparently, like the board, you need a member invite to join. Which just seems incestuous to me. And breeds more stupidity. But, hey, that's 50% less plants we had to plant!

Hey--SodaStreamers--do you flavour by the bottle after you've fizzed? Or do you flavour by the glass or a different container? What are you flavouring with? How long is the bottle acceptably fizzy?

I flavor by the bottle if I am using their syrups (glass bottles that I run through the dishwasher if they've had syrup in them), by the glass if I am using my lime cordial or whatever. I'm pretty sure I have forgotten I had fizzed a bottle and left it screwed shut in the fridge for over a month and had it be acceptably fizzy when I opened it (I keep bottles full of flat water in the fridge so they will be ready to be fizzed on a moment's notice and am generally forgetful, so I get confused about whether a given bottle should be expected to be fizzy or flat), though that bottle was probably unflavored, if that makes a difference.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How big are the glass bottles?

A liter, I think?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For some reason I thought they were smaller than the plastic ones. No facts, though.

My swim times STANK. However, the only fuel I had today was 2 clementines and an oatmeal cookie. After 5 hours sleep, I also had my performance appraisal, 2 long thinky meetings, intense coding and a dentist appointment that left me swimming with half a numb face.

I'm pretty sure my swim was doomed to be slow.

I was also asked if I was interested in my boss's job during the review. Interesting. (Uh, yes?!_)She's not going anywhere anytime soon, but they want to groom me for that career path. And we're heading in some really innovative new directions in the archives. So. It was flattering and also kinda scary! Oh, and the review was fine.
