I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can do VHS to digital conversions - that is, I have what I believe to be the necessary equipment, I haven't actually done any. Anyone wants to leap at that opportunity, I will hook it all up and give it a try.

Sounds like you have a pretty good deal set up, though, Suzi. I wonder whatever happened to our old home movies - my grandfather had film from when my mom was a kid that would be fun to see again, and my dad probably has reels and a projector tucked away somewhere.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The guy says that digitizing from reels give better quality than from reels converted to VHS to digital. Unfortunately I don't have the original reels.

brillig

We have hundreds of old VHS, mostly stuff pulled off TV. I think it's time to start talking to Hubby about cleaning stuff out. A lot of this is probably in YouTube, because we grabbed lots of obscure news stuff, like Hirohito's funeral, because we like exotic ritual things.

If I can get in the gates I have a key on the porch. But none of my neighbors appear to be home.

Fuck. Just locked myself out of the house.

Oh, that sucks.

OTOH, it does remind me that we live in the future and the first thing you did was post to B.org to tell us! Hah.

I feel like the future should have better answers than "call a locksmith", y'know?? Though I do know plenty of people who can call themselves on their cellphones to let themselves into their buildings. But can't then get in their apartment.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Holy shit! You know what you don't want to read in an email from your kids' school? This:

Today, at approximately 7:35 AM, an adult male made telephone threats to law enforcement agencies that he would commit shootings at various school sites.

Apparently their school was on lockdown for a brief while as law enforcement sorted it all out. No shooters, no shooting, everyone is safe. My overwhelming feelings right now are relief and gratitude, but yipes! I don't want to live in a world where pipe bombs and school shooting threats become the norm.

Holy shit, Burrell! I'm so glad there was no actual danger.
