And it's nearly time for the spring haircut, to get my hair off my neck as it gets hot. And it's also time for the spring argument with Hubby, where he pouts and moans at the very idea of me cutting my hair. "You could put witch hazel on your neck to cool it off!" "Or I could cut my hair and not worry about it." "A topknot! Why not a topknot?" "Because all that hair held close to my head keeps the heat in. Why don't you grow your hair long?" Shockingly, he had no reply to that one.
Kilimanjaro is an immensely exciting prospect!
Random awkward situations today (brought to mind by exciting travel):
The current high-up in our practice group is making noise about having our next annual meeting in Maui, a step up from this years' golf resort in Scottsdale. This is coming up because we have mounds of travel/expense money in the budget - because of the practice lead having a stroke a few months ago. Urp. He's still in rehab, not travelling obviously, and apparently there's a 100k or something burning a hole in someone's pocket?
Also, I'm struggling a bit with a sympathy card for my SIL, whose grandmother died this week. Said grandmother was good to my bro but apparently just horrid to her blood family - which may or may not have something to do with having been put to work in the coal mines by Stalin (presumbably not personnally) at the age of 10.
Also someone in our Hong Kong office commissioned a song - not an advertising jingle, but like a folksy singer-songwriter inspirational song - based on our corporate tag line. I can't even.
I just renewed by overdue car registration online. Last year if you missed the deadline you had to do it in person, now they give you up to 6 months to still do it online. YAY!
I realize this is not the WORK I should be doing, but I am getting a wee tired of going in to someone's office every 10-15 minutes with papers and files to ask them what they are and what to do with them. If this guy would give me 30 min of his day to just sit here with me, we could probably finish a box.
No chemo for my mother. She's met with all of the various doctors post-surgery, and all of her various scores (that I'm having a hard time keeping track of) are as positive as they could be.
Great news Dana!
Yay, mom!
Yay Dana's mom!
