See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I've read just one Reacher book, but... nope, not Tom Cruise. Reacher not only has a huge physical presence, he's bleak and broody and a very self-sufficient, composed man of few words (which makes the physical presence even more significant) who clearly has Big Feelings but keeps them all on serious lockdown. Gary Cooper could have done it. Bruce Willis could have done it a few years ago (not sure how tall or not-tall he is, but he's an amazing physical actor). Chris Hemsworth can, maybe, with a few years on him. Nathan Fillion, drawing on the darkest, most rigidly practical and brokenest bits of Mal.*

Cruise? No, no, no. He does have a weird ability to do dark and broken (I loathe almost everything he's done but love Magnolia -- please forgive me, Teppy), but his dark and broken is a little too jittery, greasy, cock-waggy. So very, very not Reacher.

*(Actually, even though the two characters were created by different people at different times and don't exactly have a ton in common, it's just about fair to say that if you can't imagine the actor in question credibly playing Mal, he probably can't play Reacher either. I have no doubt Cruise will be competent and the movie will be thrilling, but it won't be a Reacher movie except by linguistic accident.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, poor Homer hasn't eaten anything since I got home, and has barely gotten off the sofa. I feel like he's deteriorating really fast. But also sort of that staring at a cat is a bad idea.

A watched cat never does what you are expecting?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yes, and also trying to see if they are sleeping more than normal is a sucker's game.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

So, this is probably the best example of a Rochester Accent I found [link]

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

However, I thought I would hate him as Lestat, and I didn't.

That's actually one of the few roles I like Tom Cruise in. He's not my One True Lestat (that would be a slightly younger Tom Hardy, because Lestat is supposed to be tall, muscular, and insanely charming), but Cruise did a good job.

Consuela, you are in the thick of a whole lot of uhg. No need to apologize for it. Having somewhere, anywhere to say it out loud makes it a little less isolating. Because otherwise you are alone with it and your fellow inmates.

Yes, this. You need someplace to vent to, so you can hold on and function. Don't apologize.

That woman sounds kind of like my MIL, who is from Cleveland, and says "warsh."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

His eyes look a little squirrelly, so maybe he had another seizure, and that's why he's so sleepy. I will reserve judgement until tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I need you guys to be my witness--I just updated my BOSS on the project status without any prompting. See! I'm learning. Staying ahead on this one.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

However, I thought I would hate him as Lestat, and I didn't.

I didn't like him there. But I think I can make a compelling argument that Brad Pitt should have played most of the roles in that movie. Well, either it is actually compelling or Jilli and Plei wanted me to shut up. It's a toss up. But I stand by my convictions.

Man, I feel like I'm all BOB NEEDS CLONOPIN these days. Sorry if I'm kind of one-note, it's boring even to me.

It's not. This is stressful. And your mom needs major benzos.

But also sort of that staring at a cat is a bad idea.

It is. But I am thinking of you and Homer.
