You can have our job~ma back, Consuela. Stephen got offered a job this afternoon! And is starting 5/20, as far as I know. Whee!
Right now, I'm most excited about the decent health insurance and the fact that the company pays 70%.
And Sara is officially going to the Friends school next year!
Plus another friend got great news! Today has not sucked.
Hooray, Amy and family!!!!!!!
Timelies all!
So, things moved a bit quicker on the job front than I expected. To refresh your memories, on April 15(the day with the other personal crap for me) my boss said that we should find me a new lab, since my skills aren't being used well where I am. I agreed. Last week I had an interview with a lab that was more up my alley, so to speak. I was told they didn't have a position at the moment, but they would try to see if they could find a place for me.(which might take a while) This morning I get an email from hr saying that I am to start a 6 month detail in that lab starting Monday the 13th. Ok then.

Wow, that is fast! I hope it works well for you.
YAY AMY!!
Good luck with that, Sheryl...
Someone in my building put notes at all the doors basically saying we should tell the zoning committee that we don't want "another fast food chain" in the neighborhood. The thing that's funny to me? We don't have any of the typical national fast food chains at all here! OK, there's Chipotle. And a ton of burgers and other burritos and stuff, but no McD, BK, Wendy's, KFC, whatever.
Jesse, if you check the Davis Square LJ, there's been new developments, such as a bunch of letters sent out by JonMon telling posters they won't get named in the John Doe section of his lawsuit. I'm... almost... sorry that I'm not included so far, but honestly with the unemployment and consequent financial situation, I don't want to borrow trouble.
It's all so crazy! (Maybe you could get him to name you in the suit and then counter-sue for the big bucks??)
Yay, Amy! And Sheryl, I think? It sounds like a good thing, if faster than expected.
