Woo hoo! Rooting for Stephen (I have only known a Steven and can never get anyone else's ph/v's correct, other than little Stevie Beauregard (he was ten years older than us when we met him in Montreal--no real idea why he hung with the kids, but hello rapid education!).
I am in a mood to post all my old friends full names all over the place, so let me banish that urge by saying here COLIN FERGUSON COLIN FERGUSON COLIN FERGUSON. Hopefully that'll dampen it.
I drew a picture I really like (and it's even getting notes! my stuff is generally tumblr-unpopular), I had way nicer sushi than I was expecting for lunch (also less, but I can work out the value proposition here--it's nice to know a good place nearby, I guess, even if it's not lunch material), and I got more of the random work discounts at Staples (more than 50% off the file jackets! That's an office supply orgasm right there! No, I will not join your paltry Rewards Club-bow before my discount which is apparently better than the sales clerk gets--I am so screwed...).
But I've had three lie downs with H2O2, and still blocked. Do normale people do preventive maintenance and I slacked off? Or should my body be taking care of this? My right ear feels fine! But so did this left one yesterday...
Jesse, please post this: [link]
That's a fantastic post. Jesse, I agree!
I swear, it's like I have a tumblr bat-signal. I can't seem to reblog it from my phone, but will get to it tomorrow.
Go, Stephen!
I am staying with my father again, and am so tired. I wonder how early I can get him to go to bed...
I'll put in the queue right now, Jesse.
I was going to suggest reading to your dad, too, but that's probably not a great idea if you're tired.
ita, try some diffuse heat on your ear. Although I'm thinking you might not own a hair dryer ...
Hot damp washcloth or heating pad/pack. Alcohol is mainly advised if the plug is water, not congestion.
No kittens today.
Although I'm thinking you might not own a hair dryer ...
You are precisely correct. I just found my hairbrush looking for a syringe with nozzle (the only one I have can do nothing better than just drip the H2O2 in, but not flush--probably safer), and it's a Barbie hairbrush, one of those where the head is the size of your fingertip. It's been 20 years since I needed more.
Anything else? The H2O2 have been 15 minute lie downs while it bubbles, but I've finished the D/C institutionalised duelling fic (go worldbuilding!)--well, as much as has been published. I can't even watch TV that still.
Thanks, Amy!
The warm damp sounds right to me, ita.
We're watching ncis, as one does.
Stephen had a great job interview and is going back for a second, and Sara loved the Friends school where she'll probably go next year (my mom works there). Yay.
Oh, hooray!
I don't think I said, but yesterday the permanent person (who got the first position I interviewed for) started, and to accommodate her they moved me to a different desk, which is fine but mildly unsettling. Just, I overhear different people through the cubicle walls now, i have to turn the other way when I'm coming back from the bathroom, little things like that. But, hey, still employed and I got to spend all day today making charts out of data, which I heartily enjoy.
