Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks, Amy!

The warm damp sounds right to me, ita.

We're watching ncis, as one does.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Stephen had a great job interview and is going back for a second, and Sara loved the Friends school where she'll probably go next year (my mom works there). Yay.

Oh, hooray!

I don't think I said, but yesterday the permanent person (who got the first position I interviewed for) started, and to accommodate her they moved me to a different desk, which is fine but mildly unsettling. Just, I overhear different people through the cubicle walls now, i have to turn the other way when I'm coming back from the bathroom, little things like that. But, hey, still employed and I got to spend all day today making charts out of data, which I heartily enjoy.

Once again, my beloved family is blithely feigning ignorance of my actual vacation time. Sigh. Really, it is my parents, who were never good at remembering it while they were still working (they had a lot more leeway,) and in retirement...forget it. I just need to ride the wave of frustration and let.it.go.

I'd like to visit my parents out in NM this summer. It makes sense to pick up the boys en route. HOWEVER. Really, asking the girl with limited leave to burn WHEN YOU ARE FUCKING RETIRED? Be careful about how you pose it. Very careful. Because you know what? Travel day is a day of vacation I burn. You're basically adding another half day. And I don't have retirement funds to let me live comfortably until I'm 110 yet.

Letting.it.go.

Just needed to vent. I love my fam, they just have some blind spots.

Because books.

Making charts out of data sounds really good.

Do you have the interview tomorrow?

::waves at Sox:: I need to email you.

(Oh, and mom neglected to mention some crucial details. Which I can't accommodate. Sorry, SIL, when I sort of agreed to this, I didn't have those details!)

Not me, I have had all my scheduled interviews until further notice. Impatiently waiting on my exam results starts this weekend, though, so I have that to look forward to.

Because books.

Oh! Well, good luck with the test results!

Hey, sara, did you go to a Friends school growing up?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

(Not to try to burn additional leave time or anything, but we may be playing Las Cruces in August on our summer tour. So you totally should come see me if the schedule lines up!)

Amy, nope. Unaffiliated preschool. Public school for 13 years. But private school in my part of the world was pretty much Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School or some other dodgy (lacked accreditations) christian schools.

Going to a private quaker college, TONS of folk had gone to quaker schools coming up. I haven't heard of many bad ones, they vary in educational styles, but tend towards rigorous but nurturing. Eastern quakers tend to be much less granola-hippy-weird, and tend to have more highly-regarded schools. I really can't think of any out west, though I am sure they exist. But we have one highly regarded even here in B'more.
