Frank, be easy on yourself - this has got to be upsetting in ways we can't imagine. So glad you're safe.

(((Frank))) Hiring movers sounds like the right call. I hope you can find a new home quickly and easily.
Hugs, Frank!
Frank, what Sparky said. Also, you probably want to contact the fire department -- or whoever's handling matters in place of your landlord -- about access to the apartment for packing purposes. Another helpful hint: Don't worry too much about packing neatly. You can always sort things out in the new place.
(Part of the Buffista hive mind is the BTDT crew. Although in our case, we'd already found a place and given notice before the fire happened. The fire fighters threw some of our stuff in the boxes we'd already collected, which helped the packing along.)

My ear is stopped up! I've had two lie downs with H2O2, so it's better than when I first woke up, but I have tinnitus, and this is like cranking the volume. I am going NUTS.
OH the joys of sending out emails to people with instructions to remove me from tasks. good times.
Did I mention here that I started watching White Collar on Netflix. I never watched it before - that is some good times. The green screen backgrounds are bad when they use them, but otherwise I like the visuals. I mainlined S1 over the weekend and started S2 last night.
I put up the new patio umbrella that I ordered over Amazon and have dubbed it the Shademaker 2000. Next step is the screen-tent-thing that I bought to hang off it so that I have the equivalent of a little screen house where I can hide from the mosquitos and so on.
I may be unemployed but damn am I going to do it in style....
From the NYT:
he police had been called two times to a house where three young women from Cleveland, who disappeared about a decade ago and who friends and relatives feared were gone forever, were found on Monday, the authorities said on Tuesday.
Is it wrong that I'd rather they had said "twice" than "two times"? Is twice too difficult a word for NYT readers?
