You ARE in California...
I wish I could remember who said it... something along the lines of only in California is "I flaked" a valid answer to "What the hell happened to you?!?!?"
I hope things work out with the rescheduled interview, Scrappy.
Frankenbuddha, I hope your day has improved.
Ooh, good luck, Scrappy. Can you reiterate how unlike you this is in a followup note?
Doing that right now!
There, see! Of course you're a rockstar of an applicant.
I swear 5 hours have gone by since I looked at the closk at 3pm.
Doesn't help that the admin who sits right by me has her granddaughter here and said child will NOT sit down and read her book.
ION - I did manage to get a couple of things off my desk that needed doing. I am reaching that point of winding down the job where the battle to finish EVERYTHING is overwhelming and the attitude of "good enough" is starting to emerge.
Oh, Scrappy, I can easily imagine how that must feel. Hope it doesn't hurt your chances!
I am so sorry, Scrappy. mr. flea once went to a formal interview in a suit and felt great about how it went and went out to his car and looked in the mirror to tell himself, "You rocked!" and realized he hadn't shaved.
I was propositioned for the first time at work today! Sigh. What makes you think that a 40 year old librarian wearing a wedding ring would possibly be interested in getting freaky with a presumably unemployed guy who spends the day hanging out in the library? I mean, he was relatively un-crude and polite about it, but seriously??
Wow, flea, that is certainly a thing. Un-crude and polite is better than it could be, I suppose.
Man, today seemed very long and busy (no longer than a usual day, but it was busy and lunch was a departmental "party" that I honestly did not know how to account for on my timesheet, so kind of no time off) and it turned out to be the last day for one of the other temps (as she was leaving, the rep that sits across the aisle from me said "see you Monday" and she said no we wouldn't is the only reason I know that). I'm not sure how to react to that. I kind of don't have to, though, so, whatever, I guess.
And I have at least a quart of potato salad leftover. But someone asked me for the recipe, and someone else said she doesn't like beets, but they tasted okay in my dish, so that's nice.
Is it time for wine yet?
