Oh, Scrappy, I can easily imagine how that must feel. Hope it doesn't hurt your chances!

I am so sorry, Scrappy. mr. flea once went to a formal interview in a suit and felt great about how it went and went out to his car and looked in the mirror to tell himself, "You rocked!" and realized he hadn't shaved.
I was propositioned for the first time at work today! Sigh. What makes you think that a 40 year old librarian wearing a wedding ring would possibly be interested in getting freaky with a presumably unemployed guy who spends the day hanging out in the library? I mean, he was relatively un-crude and polite about it, but seriously??
Wow, flea, that is certainly a thing. Un-crude and polite is better than it could be, I suppose.
Man, today seemed very long and busy (no longer than a usual day, but it was busy and lunch was a departmental "party" that I honestly did not know how to account for on my timesheet, so kind of no time off) and it turned out to be the last day for one of the other temps (as she was leaving, the rep that sits across the aisle from me said "see you Monday" and she said no we wouldn't is the only reason I know that). I'm not sure how to react to that. I kind of don't have to, though, so, whatever, I guess.
And I have at least a quart of potato salad leftover. But someone asked me for the recipe, and someone else said she doesn't like beets, but they tasted okay in my dish, so that's nice.
Is it time for wine yet?
It IS time for wine!
I was all pleased with myself for making dinner, but honestly? It wasn't any healthier than anything else I would have eaten (takeout or popcorn or whatever): pasta with bacon and peas and cheese. Ah well. It was delicious, at least! And practically free!
It is time for whiskey here! I even had one of my project managers tell me to go get a cocktail. Oh, man what a week. I've been working overtime a lot lately, but in the 45 hours/week realm, not the 56 hours I had this week. I'm hoping I can take a day off next week. While the OT pay is nice, right now, I'd just like a day where I didn't have to do a DARNED thing.
Yeah, I feel like it's time for whiskey here.
I am making crappy dinner for myself again because I went in to meet up with the SO. I was planning on eating lunch out, and I knew it wouldn't be eating with him because he had a breakfast date, so he'd have just eaten. But I figured he could sit with me while I ate. But then I didn't communicate that I was coming in, so he came home to pick something up while I was sitting at the coffeeshop waiting for him.
And then I hung around but he was wrong about his afternoon teaching schedule, so I didn't actually end up with much time with him, and I figured I'd eat something after I left, but then he asked me to set hockey to record, so I had to get home by four.
None of which is his fault, but the upshot is, I haven't eaten since two eggs this morning, and I'm starving and bad pasta is the fastest thing I can cook. So, whatevs.
Anyway, it's fine, I got a lot of work done sitting there, it just wasn't the way I'd have planned my day given the choice.
Hm, I think eating half a pound of cherries may have slaked my desire for wine for the nonce. Fresh cherries on a hot day = nom.
Mmm, cherries. Hm, that's what I should have done. Stopped by the grocery for fruit and cheese on my way home. Oh well.
Did I remember to mention that I finally made it to the Farmer's Market yesterday? I did. It was the first day of the season (why it isn't open for the winter I'm not sure I understand, there's certainly local produce available, but maybe people aren't willing to go shopping in the park when it's colder and wetter) and I had finished my CSA haul, so that worked out very well for me. I would invite y'all to come eat some of it up (and potato salad!) but my house is so not fit for guests...and the distance thing, of course.
Oh, our farmer's market opens on Sunday. Though we won't have any local produce for at least another month - don't want to think what all this late snow has done to the harvests.
