Long staff meeting this afternoon. ED opened with a story about Boston marathon amputees and double-amputee war vets swooping in to help, and related that to how we're all overworked and swamped and we only have each other to help us through, and to not drown alone. Okay.

I wanted to ask how we were supposed to be each others shoulders to lean on when we're freaking out about getting our own work done. I think he means seeking assistance in getting in more assistance (volunteers), I hope, because no other staff member is going to be helping us get plants in the ground.

And then the DD left the staff meeting and did not return. I'm glad we and the information we're diseminating is so important to her that she can't schedule around us. I actually forgot her when counting chairs at the beginning. Because she's never there.

Boss lady told me to orient/tour the new intern, but I've had a year to learn her nature, and made myself absent when the intern arrived so boss lady could indoctrinate her like she wanted. I've learned that I am on the same level as the interns when it comes to tasks and orders. I'm going in with eyes wide open. Whatever. And then she enables the one thing that pisses me off (that I learned the hard way about from a dufus who whined that his water would get warm if he kept it with him): leaving their water bottle in the office. I'm sorry, you want to have them wander up into the house whenever they want a sip of water? Tomorrow she's out until lunch, and I will have to undermine her yet again.

In general, I think people generally have fewer qualms about eating their shoes.

People are absolutely more nutrient dense but they also have names.

I'm not saying you should kill the people to eat them, it just seems like once you have eaten the dogs and the horses, the dead people seem like a good choice. I would want my loved ones to eat me rather than die.
