Here's my real concern, I guess. I get PMS symptoms that are fairly emotion-oriented - I suck, I'm the stupidest, fattest, dumbest person in the world, whatever. But the upside to that is that right before I ovulate, I feel like I'm the smartest, sexiest, most awesome person ever. And those feelings I like. I'm hesitant to lose the bad and the good, but I'm thinking hormones might do that because I don't remember feeling that way when I was on the pill (which was 13 years ago and I was younger obviously and might now have been that in tune with my body).
eta: so I thought maybe the Paraguard would let me keep my hormonal mood swings, but I'm not sure a heavier period each month is worth that.
Happy birthday, Ryan!!
CB and Uncle Bud want to eat each other's food. Pets!
The side effects are MUCH lower than what I remember from BC pills.
I'm in month 1 of my Mirena and I haven't really felt any side effects. I know it is still early in the process for me to provide a real run down but I'm happy with it so far.
Mirena is the bomb-diggity.
Although I suppose I should have mine removed, as I no longer need it, having convinced certain people that they needed to step up and take a small outpatient surgery for the team.
Oh, and as far as dog food goes, I am massively in favor of raw feeding. As your dog is small, Lee, you could even buy the frozen, pre-assembled raw.
My dogs being large, we go through a LOT of bird carcass.

Oooh. I wonder if I could convince my old man to do that. (I would kind of like to get my Mirena removed, as I suspect it's contributed to a crabby libido and weight gain.)
I thought dogs weren't supposed to eat poultry bones?
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! (His birthday ended a couple of hours ago, due to the International Date Line.) I've been discussing his birthdaying over in Bitches, from here: billytea "Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In" Apr 29, 2013 9:43:50 pm PDT.
We give ours this stuff: [link] The vet recommended it and they love it.
For dogs, better quality food results in less volume coming out the other end, which certainly makes a difference in big dogs.
I use Professional, which is the in-house brand at Petsmart. It's lower fat than a lot of brands, which keeps TNG from getting diarrhea.
One thing to remember is to gradually switch him over, not to change foods all at once, because too much change at once may give him stomach problems.
