The older I get, the harder it is to switch from theatre hours, where I am up until 4 am and wake any time between 9 am and 3 pm, and regular office hours, where I have to be up by 6 at the latest. Yesterday I got up at 6 am fine, but then went back to bed and slept until 3. That made this morning brutal.
Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.
I think I've decided to stay in my crappy apartment one more year. It's not likely that I could find a better one for enough less than my new rent that it would save me any money. And if I get a new job that pays more, maybe I could increase my budget? (I realize I should not do that, as I already pay All The Money in rent.)

Wonderful. Another night given over to nightmares. I don't think I've ever woken up crying before.
Last week's lost night is pretty much what kicked my headache into third gear early, so I'm not sure what this one will do. I want to curl up into a ball, but not go back to sleep, because horrible things are there.

You're not allowed to say that, Consuela. It's unpatriotic. You're supposed to shake your head and vilify either the boy or his assumed bullies (what the hell, might as well vilify the parents too), then throw up your hands and say "if only there was something we could do!, if only someone had a concealed weapon on him so he could... uh, protect... uh... mumble"
