I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, fresh hell , consuela.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Make the old apartment go away. There is no going back. Only going forward.

They talked her down, sort of.

I don't know how we're going to get through this if we need to have a child there every moment to keep dad from giving in to her...

I just sent a despairing email to the facility staff.

Just a close watch for the first couple weeks until the old apartment isn't an option.

We can't be there every day, David.

And it's going to take months to get the old place on the market: it's full of crap, much of it valuable.

Then I suggest Lithium in a heavy doses.

You'll get through this,

What if you didn't read the text until morning?

FTR, the staff has seen all this before. Hopefully they give your dad the tools to deal with the escapism. (My friend's mom had advanced ALZ, her dad has mild dementia. Her mom ended up on a closed ward, but dad could come and go, as they were still living together because it made her more stable.)

I'm sure. I'm not sure they can manage her, though, if my father gives in so easily.

Because books.

Would rewards help, Consuela? For your mom or your dad, even if in his case it's just to get him to stand firm.

I think you might have to concentrate on him anyway, and persuade him not to give in.

It's so hard. But like everyone said, "the only way out is through." One day at a time.
