Tara: Do you have any books on robots? Giles: Oh, yes, dozens. There's a lot of research to be done in order to--no, I'm lying. Haven't got squat. I just like watching Xander squirm.

I'd give them to the kids under the eyes of the fosters, just so you know that they know that YOU know you gave it to them. Kindness can't hurt the kids, deception and shenanigans, they've probably seen a lot of. So be honest, straightforward and kind. You're offering a gift, not a commitment. In my meager experience with kids in challenging situations, being up front and uncomplicated is a boon to them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why would giving them toys be hurtful?

I believe from what I hear that there's a "not really religious/culturally Jewish" type option. But hopefully those people say they're not actually Jewish in their profile or whatever.

Yeah, I'm not exactly going to register to find out, but I do wonder if any of the sites that identify themselves by a demographic allow a) for members not in the demographic or b) if they allow for subdivision of non-target demographics (like, is it all Jewish or not Jewish, or can you get more granular with your not-Jewishness). Oh, and I want to know what all the types of dating sites logos are. Hmm. Geek to geek has a woman in shades holding the hand of a guy in headphones--so this is a site for straight couples that accessorise?

My sister just texted me: as of 8 pm, my father had agreed to take my mother back to the old apartment tonight and was packing the suitcase.

!!!!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, dear. That doesn't sound good.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's a big fat NO.

All resources must be funneled into getting over this hump.

Oh, fresh hell , consuela.

Make the old apartment go away. There is no going back. Only going forward.

They talked her down, sort of.

I don't know how we're going to get through this if we need to have a child there every moment to keep dad from giving in to her...

I just sent a despairing email to the facility staff.

Just a close watch for the first couple weeks until the old apartment isn't an option.
