Tonight is invited dress for the show I've been working on this week. This director always invites about 600 of his closest friends. This audience has probably added 20 minutes to the show with laughter. C'mon people, the show should be ending now! I wanna go home!

Aw, I want you to be able to go home but 20 minutes of laughter sounds pretty good!

In less somber news, I chatted up with this absolutely gorgeous eye-candy guy in the pool tonight. I've swum with him before, and was totally demoralized, cause he's fast. Turns out, he swam competitively (his best 50 is 29s. Mine is 43. Yeah) and is a developers' PM at Lockheed, from PR, has a lovely accent, and is so so so friendly.

Now I can't objectify/resent him anymore! He has a name! We talked my timer, work shit. He was all 'we could use people like you at work! And dude, you do the whole pool length underwater like I do!' I had to tell him I LOVE working where I do, but look out for positions with us, and I only do the long lengths AFTER my main swim. He starts his workout with them. I'd die. And I'm slow.

OTOH, when I said I was slow, but I did distance, he was all "ohgawd, I cannot do that.' gave me some, I dunno, vindication? Rationalization?

It was fun.

Damn, I just got the creys out of nowhere. Okay, a where, but this tumblr is made of awesome--little girls dreaming big awesome. Just...by the time I got to this [link] I broke down in tears. Look at her little face!

Yep, I was right! 20 minutes.

I'm glad they're enjoying the show and they're fun to listen to over the monitor, but it's been a full week of 9am-11pm days. I'm beat.

One thing Facebook is great for is keeping in touch with my sister Linda. (Huh, used to be I'd punctuate that as "my sister, Linda", to differentiate her from Sharon. And while Sharon is still my sister, the odds of talking to her are low, so therefore no need for a comma to indicate which sister I'm talking to.)

Anyway, the house and land I grew up in/on have been sold to her daughter. They're going to tear down the house and build a new one. I'm thrilled the land is staying in the family, and while I'm sad about the house, I'm not surprised. It's a nearly 150-year-old farmhouse with rooms tacked on top and behind. The most interesting parts of it are the stone cellar--I loved the smell of that--and the half-round spiral staircase that ran up inside the wall beside the old fireplace.

Aside from the stone slabs that make up the floor of the cellar, there are also gigantic sandstone blocks making up the walls. Linda is keeping those and the old floor timbers to build something at her new house. So it's a bit melancholy but in keeping with the life cycle of old buildings.

The superhero girls are fantastic!
