Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah, since he wasn't five, I believe that "don't remember" is a "Don't wanna say."
Hey, job people wanting to talk to you is good! Even if it ends up not being a job you can take (although who knows, maybe there are remote working options).
The job I interviewed for here is being filled. The person they hired temped here for 18 months and would have been hired when the contract was up but there was no opening. The manager I interviewed with (who I have little contact with day-to-day) e-mailed me to let me know before they announced it generally, which was nice of her.
It's Bring Your Kids to Work day here, and so far my desk has been the stop for Doctor Who discussion, Batman sightings, and Captain America being declared the good guy and Tony Stark the bad guy.
Man Consuela. Glad they want to talk to you.
If the local color from first season of Grimm is anything to go by, Portland is an awesome place to live...
reading this article about how few people use math in their work lives
and this quote from a commenter:
I have also worked for many bosses that took advantage of thier employee's lack of math skills. They would literally say to us "You guys worked 8 hours today[at $6 an hour] That's $36 dollars that i owe each of you " . I would politely correct the boss. But soon was not used by many of the local construction bosses because i knew simple addition and knew that they were robbing their employees
Unbelievable.
I was looking for an update about the West TX explosion and happened on a Web site that claimed a METEORITE is the cause of the damage to the factory, not the (over-abundance) of fertilizer stored there.
Man. I would like to unsee that.
Do ya ever get the feeling that the stupid is winning?

Based on Grimm, Portland's police are deeply stupid, though.
