I've been so behind in the big threads I've missed a lot of folks who have suffered losses. Now that I'm caught up, I want to extend my condolences to erika and everyone else (and there seem to have been a lot of you lately) who have lost a family member, be they two-legged or four.

Good luck with the job, Calli.
and I want a lemur-cam.
Oh, erika, I'm sorry.
erika, I'm so sorry.
I decree all Buffista pets should take at least a year off of getting sick or dying.
Aw, erika. That's rough. I'm sorry.
So, my in-laws (M's dad and his new wife) are in town for Rose's birthday. They arrived last night, having driven 12 hours from Oklahoma, and ate dinner with us, then went off to their hotel. Before they left, they discussed coming over to our place this morning, since they arrived too late to see Rose last night, and they wanted to get in some baby-gazing time today. We said fine, we have to be out of the house by 9, but at least one of us is always up with the baby by 7, so there's plenty of time to come hang out.
This morning the phone rang at 5:38. We let it ring, because neither of us wants to get out of bed in the morning before we absolutely have to (i.e., when Rose wakes up). Of course, the phone woke her up, and after a few minutes of rustling and snuffling around in her crib, she let it be known at 5:50 that she was wide awake. In-laws knocked on the front door ten minutes later.
Aaaaaaargh.
5:38?!!!??! That is seriously NOT ON.
So sorry for your loss, erika.
