she was alternating between pleading to be let go and singing "We Are The World".
That is hilarious.
I just officially signed my offer letter and sent my acceptance to HR. Done and done. Except I won't be changing over until the end of July.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Congrats, shrift! Go you life-ruiner.
Met with my attorney, court date is pushed off (I almost threw up at the staff meeting anticipating just meeting with the dude today). I still can't believe that this is the most severe driving offense. For not having the money covered in case of getting in an accident, over "I was totally wasted and totally could have killed someone"?! In a way, I'm pissed off at NH for having such lenient insurance requirements (I'm not passing the buck, I just grew up where insurance was only necessary where you were making payments on a car, and was a bit loosey goosey), I just had no idea NJ was so strict, I would totally have paid that bill over keeping my apartment electrified if I'd known. I am a fucktard.
It's the little things: I'm just glad that my penance to the Ralph Jar doesn't include these posts. Fuck Fuck Fuck! If all goes well, $300 to the courts, and I can make payments to the attorney.
I really would have thought the registration would have been the bigger issue, what with terrorists and whose car belongs to whom and whatnot. (I also don't get the penalty for driving without your seatbelt, in a "get your hands off of my life (in a fairly literal sense)" way).
Wait, I think I missed where shrift is ruining lives? Would that be your own, or those of others?

Co-workers will be dominated by shrift's shriftiness.
She's a super hero, the Life Ruiner. I like to imagine her waking up every morning and thinking "today is a good day to ruin some bad guys' lives".
I actually forget the exact context, but it's other people's lives, and they deserve it.
Today's been one of those days where I now feel a lot stupider than I thought I was this morning.
Yay for new jobs for everyone who wants 'em!
sigh How does that Feliway stuff work, again? My Leo has become too aggressive towards the other two cats. I know he's playing, but he gets too excited and too rough, with the smacking and the biting. Any disruption to the routine (like me going away for a few days) seems to result in a flare-up of Leo's insecurity and thus bad behavior.
Wait, I think I missed where shrift is ruining lives?
I'm on an abuse team. There was an incident a few months ago that resulted in me being identified as "the life ruiner" when I met a director F2F for the first time.

Oh, we totally do this. Just the other day I let my coworker pull the trigger on a bad guy because coworker will be moving into a role where he doesn't get to do that anymore.
Oh, yay, so the other big firm I have been hoping to interview with finally got back to me (it had been a week!) and is trying to get two managers' schedules to overlap so they can both meet me at once.
I had begun to assume they weren't interested, or something. I might have developed an oversized expectation of private industry's agility after so long in the public sector.
