"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Wait, I think I missed where shrift is ruining lives?

I'm on an abuse team. There was an incident a few months ago that resulted in me being identified as "the life ruiner" when I met a director F2F for the first time.

I like to imagine her waking up every morning and thinking "today is a good day to ruin some bad guys' lives".

Oh, we totally do this. Just the other day I let my coworker pull the trigger on a bad guy because coworker will be moving into a role where he doesn't get to do that anymore.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Oh, yay, so the other big firm I have been hoping to interview with finally got back to me (it had been a week!) and is trying to get two managers' schedules to overlap so they can both meet me at once.

I had begun to assume they weren't interested, or something. I might have developed an oversized expectation of private industry's agility after so long in the public sector.

Thrive to spite them

Zen it's a Kitty pheremone, it mimics the pheremone that they use to mark their territory so if you have the Feliway the cat thinks everything is home.

You can get difusers you plug in or a spray. It worked with Dean with some of his behavioral issues - like peeing on stuff and some of the more aggressive play with Penny.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This is an epic bad guy story brewing in a different context:

Holy schmao!

At the center of the investigation was an alleged leader of the gang, Tavon White, who prosecutors said had sexual relationships with at least four of the prison guards, fathering five children since his incarceration in Baltimore in 2009.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I forgot to mention yesterday that I finally got Mom to try the Thai restaurant when she came out to lunch with me. She had tom yum soup, mango chicken, and thai iced tea and loved it all! After the Japanese steakhouse attempt years ago I'd despaired of getting her to like anything more exotic than lasagna.

not your mom's socks.

That was the paragraph that made DH's eyebrows go up and almost not come back down.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Zen it's a Kitty pheremone, it mimics the pheremone that they use to mark their territory so if you have the Feliway the cat thinks everything is home.

They mark (with their faces) all over the place; surely they already know this is home! I've tried the spray and it doesn't have any noticeable effect. I don't know if it's worth trying the diffuser. I want something to calm them down.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

(I'm not passing the buck, I just grew up where insurance was only necessary where you were making payments on a car, and was a bit loosey goosey)

Yes, as I not-so-fondly remember when a fellow from New Hampshire rear ended me and had no insurance. So that sucked for me.
