Stay safe people. What a scary week.
Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Jesse, I've been in the nearly cigarette-less place and it's not fun. Zen?
CVS is right across the street, but I don't think they are 24 hours, so probably no one is there. But at least I can look out the front door of my building and maybe see what is going on.
Not that I'm going anywhere, given that shit is going down all around me, apparently!
Lesson learned: don't even bother going to the Giant to grab something from the deli for lunch before 8. ALL the fridge cases are empty. Even some of the veggie ones. Fuck you Giant, I never liked you anyway.
Parents are both home bound due to no T running and Boston being...closed. I can't imagine this, Jesse.
My poor mother -- in Somerville, not locked down -- has a 10am meeting in Quincy -- south of here, also not locked down. She wasn't sure if the people she was supposed to be meeting with would be able to get there.
This is going to take a while, right? I think I can turn off the news and turn on the DVR now. The internet will keep me posted.
Um, I would stay put, if I were her.
My mother is also the person who didn't want to interrupt the meeting she was in during 9/11, so her judgment may not be the best in these situations.
Oy.
2 people got fired here yesterday. Or laid off, not clear (bonus of rooming with a sysadmin, you find out whenever someone gets ousted because they have to change ALL THE PASSWORDS.) Kinda freaky since we're still posting open positions even with the sequester. One was the SIL of our now-retired division head. Uhhhhn.
In less breaking news, I am unreasonably irritated with a friend who just posted pictures of her kid all dressed up for storybook character day at school - as Buzz Lightyear. Not going to say anything.
