Based on an email I got this afternoon, it would seem that in order to "increase efficiency and save time", the firm bought a new time and attendance system to replace the "email the HR people when you are out" system.
Of course, for the first two months (at least) we have to email the HR people AND use the new time and attendance system.

Well, Casper has a new "boyfriend." Yep, less than a week after O-dawg broke up with her. It's the older brother of Dillo's best friend, who is in Casper's class, and with whom Casper spent an hour hanging out last week at Dillo's soccer practice. I found out about this because we finally had a soccer practice that wasn't in the pouring rain, and the parents got together and gossiped. The woman who works as a wine sales rep brought wine and we had a grand old time. One of the other mothers told me that according to her son, Casper is a hot ticket. I am more amused than appalled, I guess, but really, 4th grade??
