"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am too through with CNN right now. They have been completely irresponsible today. Completely.

I'm watching the local news. I can actually see the evacuation happening on the video, and they're calling it a bomb threat. There are bomb sniffing dogs on the scene.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, we're watching the WBZ feed here. I can't deal with the 24-hour networks.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

This is what I am talking about by the way.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Has Never Used PowerPoint

ENVY

It is the default method of communication here, even if not given at a meeting. And I managed to get cred for being good at them, so...

RIGHT. BACK TO WORK.

I took a short detour to throw someone under the bus for not responding to me, and it was remarkable how quickly he called once he saw the business cc-ed on the email where I asked him for information. And how sure he was he knew how the system worked (I was lead on the project, he was not involved in the design or implementation) and that he'd never received incident response documents (I wrote and mailed them to him a year ago, and we've had two handover meetings since then--one where he told me "that's not how it's going to work" and one where he told me "well, maybe it's going to need to work this say"). Oy.

I feel zero shame.

And it turns out he told me the wrong information! Yay!

I'm going back to the slides...well, painkillers and then slides.

Not sure if anyone else here deals with job cost accounting. I'm working on a new project that has 539 tasks so far. Most projects are under 20. I'm going cross-eyed dealing with this project.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The comments on this blueberry muffin recipe are classic. Especially the people who insist it is actually a cupcake. [link]
