Because books.

I could eat some ramen right now.

In completely different news, this video is gut-wrenching. A woman who took a picture of herself every day for a year, during a horrible year in her life. The transformation is incredible and heart-breaking. (Some of the images might be disturbing, or triggery for abuse, I guess? Just a warning.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Instead of having really for real ramen, or delicious fake ramen (look, it's noodle soup, even if it's cheap and substandard noodle soup it's pretty good), I am making myself something out of the four things that the handy dandy Still Tasty app says are the most past their best by date in my kitchen (that I haven't already been inspired to toss due to mold or whatever) - a tortilla, tomato paste, garlic cloves, and muenster cheese.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

That settles it, I'm going to the ramen bar on 57th St for lunch tomorrow. YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO JOIN ME.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I was going to take the soup I made to work for lunch tomorrow, but I think the tupperware is also packed.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Actually, Jessica, I will be in New York in mid June and would definitely be down for some real Japanese food. I will be starting my food planning soon.

Re: cross section of people at the marathon representing the three dead... that's one of the reasons I was so terrified when I heard the news. It could be anyone down there watching for whatever reason on a lovely Boston spring day. It could be anyone.

Re: ramen (on my kindle so can't cut and paste) there was this popup here called "Noodles and Pie" which sold various ramen flavors and, you know, pie.

:: checks Google maps for closest ramen bar::

Huh, closer than I thought. But not close enough to go to for lunch tomorrow. Alas.

Oof. No lie.

Now tagless for your comfort.

A friend of mine's article made it onto the front page of Salon.com today! I feel so excited for him. I can't wait to congratulate in at TRX class tomorrow.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

But I've never had the real ones! So all I know is I like what's called ramen in the little plastic-wrapped packs.

The real ramen noodles aren't all that similar to the instant ones -- no ripply texture :( So its not like you can get traditional ramen and it'll be some epic original version of the tasty celophane pack ones. They're their own wonderfulness altogether. The instant ones are very popular in Japan, however, despite their decidedly not-gourmet nature.
