During the '96 Olympics, I volunteered at a media center downtown, and I cut through the Centennial Olympic Park each night on my way to MARTA. It's hard to describe what a happy, silly, friendly crowd assembled there. I left the park about half an hour before Eric Rudolph's bomb went off.
