During the '96 Olympics, I volunteered at a media center downtown, and I cut through the Centennial Olympic Park each night on my way to MARTA. It's hard to describe what a happy, silly, friendly crowd assembled there. I left the park about half an hour before Eric Rudolph's bomb went off.

Has anyone heard from Jon?
I just posted on his facebook page. He hasn't posted anything there today.

Jon probably wasn't at work -- if I remember what building he works at, they're most likely shut down because getting workers in and out with the streets shutdown and the public transport at capacity is enough that most businesses (with heavy leaning on by the city) throw in the towel and make it a paid holiday.
I used to work a block and a half from the first explosion, which is right opposite the public library.
