I've seen moose in the wild. And whales.
Biggest urban animal was a deer. Though the rats here can be pretty impressive.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Supposedly there are bison in Golden Gate park. I really want to see them this summer - the only bison I've seen before are the ones ground into hamburger on my plate.

While you were posting, that, I was commenting on FB about DC introducing a trans* character in Batgirl. (I had to be a nerd and point out that Sandman had a trans* character back in the day, but still, good on Gail Simone.)
This has been today's moment of transynchronicity.
I think the largest wild animal I've closely encountered are the manatee I was kayaking over down in Florida.
I've also seen cayman and right whales from boats. Both were larger, but so were the boats.
I've seen sperm whales from a boat, moose in Maine and elk and bear in Yosemite.
We have a good population of fox in our neighborhood that are beautiful - in part because of the population of chickens that people keep (until the fox get them).
We routinely go to a wildlife preserve near Mount Rainier where we get to see semi-wild moose, elk, and bison from a tram.
OK, more hotel stuff. Monica and I decided on the Carl Hotel, only to discover that it's booked up. (Their own web page has no reservations page.) So now we're thinking of the Red Victorian. It's on Haight St. We want the Summer of Love room.
Anyone have experience with this place?
I'd love to go see a movie today, but there is nothing good playing.
We want the Summer of Love room.
Fun!
