Fun detail from the wreck? I was holding an open strawberry smoothie at the time. We were hit so hard that my glasses flew off and hit the SO in the head, and my smoothie went splat all over the window, causing him and later the med techs no end of consternation, thinking my injuries were much worse than they were.
I had a similar.
T-Boned by a car in high school - I had a large cherry slurpy stuck between my seat and the emergency brake, it was squeezed out and splattered all over both myself and the passenger. Nurses who were on the scene (driving by soon after it happened) were FREAKING OUT thinking it was blood at first.
It looked seriously bad. Like, brain matter or something. The EMTs knew it wasn't blood, but weren't entirely sure what it was. They were all...is that antifreeze? Yeah, no, smoothie.
No red drinks while driving, people. That's the new rule.
This morning there was a sucky wreck on the way to work.
Then tonight, as I'm driving home, I notice helicopters hovering over.... well, not the freeway, but my house. Which is bad. Two helicopters at two different elevations. Hmmmm....
Our nurse thinks there was a bank robbery, but I checked my neighborhood patch. It was a 120 lb. Mountain Lion that was in someone's backyard. Then on the roof tops. Then crossing the fences. Then on the move. From this morning until about 5:15, there have been helicopters watching the whole thing.

Congrats msbelle!
Good luck Consula!
Thanks everybody. It just sort of feel into my lap, no interview or anything, but then I worked with all of them for years.
Wow, that is a big kitty indeed.
I definitely had smoothie ptsd for a while afterward. However, the next smoothie I had did not cause a life altering automobile accident, so hey, smoothies ahoy.
Yay Gud, Consuela, and msbelle! It's great to hear all this promising job news.
I also have one of those stories. A guy rear-ended my mother and sister. They had just stopped for tacos and my sister ended up covered in salsa. They went to the emergency room because mother's foot was hurt. The emergency room personnel kept asking my sister where she was hurt.
There's very little more boring than wall-to-wall coverage of tornado watches and warnings.
Ha, yeah, salsa would probably look worse, especially after it was all brushed off and just staining the clothes.
I don't miss tornado season, that's for sure. We got more rain today. Not snow this time, it was 61 degrees. Arizona for ya'.
Our neighborhood mountain lion: [link] Dang. That's a big animal. The video of him going over the fence is pretty awesome.
Our friend's husband is Fish and Game. Normally he is out there chasing or shooting tranqs, but today he was coming back from Sacramento, so just coordinating from home. WEIRD.
Holy shit, Liese -- I'm glad you were OK, at least!
You people don't really make me want to drive more.
