I just agreed to foster a chihuahua puppy for the weekend. This should be fun.
I can see doing that for a weekend. Or maybe a day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Tommy, that was last year and it was probably their smallest, least expensive room. The bathroom was so small (insert joke) that the sink was in the main room. Also, there was no separate light in the bathroom, so I took showers in the light that filtered in from the main room.
I am in a routine of Whose on First with 5 other people via email and phone. I would like that double dose of Valium to be ready for day's end. Ta.
Still waiting. Still anxious.
Ma to you, Gud!
I had a phone interview for a job I'd be very good for, but they want CodeIgniter experience, which I've played around with, but not so much that I can claim any expertise on.
I would always try Hotwire/Priceline if you're flexible about where you stay.
Dang. I checked the Chateau Tivoli, but its $100/night Joaquin Miller and Jack London rooms are booked solid through July.
ISTG someday I'm going to go bananas and host a decadent F2F of decadence in the Luisa Tetrazzini suite.

Those look nice! Next time we'll have to plan a trip more in advance.
Did I mention Monica's gonna visit me in Chicago the week of Memorial day? And Monica's been invited to present a paper at a naval history conference in Annapolis in September so I'm probably going to join her for it.
tommy, I'm glad to hear you'll get to see so much of her over the next few months! The naval history conference sounds cool.
Gud, ~ma to you!
Kate, how is the weather holding up down there? We have had rain, but no violent storms (yet). I share your tornado fear.
Some private rooms are sold out, but we can get one with a shared bath for $94 a night, which I'd be happy with. But we could probably find a cheaper hotel in SF--any thoughts?
The building itself looks fine and new. The location is above market and near Union Square, but it's a wee bit sleezy as you head towards the Tenderloin (if you walked three blocks the wrong way you'd be surrounded by drug deals and tranny hookers. Which may be a feature, not a bug).
You'd be very close to the Apple Store!
It is very centrally located for transit, or even just walking down to the Ferry Building.
The Carl Hotel is a good deal and many buffistae have stayed there over the years for cheap, simple, non-fancy, clean lodging.
