Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If choice humanism means that this [link] can be a more mainstream fashion choice, I think it's clearly the best answer to life, love, and ogling legs.

I mean, I know first...hand that heels are fucking nuts in many ways, but...they do look good sometimes. Mrrowr.

For some reason I decided I needed to see House of Cards before AD came out, and I really like it, although much of it goes over my head. it's like Damages but in the House of Congress instead of law offices. And the niceties of day to day politics (here or elsewhere) commonly escape me. But the strength of some of the performances carries me trustingly through.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

OK, I applied to three more jobs today. One of them is way out east of Sacramento, which would be kind of horrible (HOT! Traffic! HOT!). But the other two are right here in town. They're all three BIG firms, but I do know someone at one of them, and I'm hoping to have lunch with her on Friday.

Work that I should be doing keeps getting re-routed around me. Some of that is malice from My Nemesis, but not all of it. I shouldn't mind, but I do, because it completely undercuts any assertion that the organization actually values me. Do I talk to my boss about it? It's really quite demoralizing to listen to the contractor fifteen feet away from me mangle the relationships I've built up with internal and external contacts.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

how bad would my life be without: TiVo, netflix, occasional flowers, weekly Dunkin?

I do without the first 3, but I don't have another human to entertain and the cats would eat the flowers. My 2nd coffee of the day comes from Dunkin so I would never suggest that anyone give that up.

This name game is amusing. I would be ailerua, which sounds like an allergy symptom, or anig.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

NO Consuela, you let it go because your energy needs to be towards you. When you can, you reach out to those people and let them know that you will not be handling things for them anymore, that is all you can do.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Sue - I'd say include the work experience and not the other stuff. Are the gaps fudgable by extending some of the relevent projects? Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about the gaps. But then again, I haven't applied for a job in ages...

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

msbelle is very wise, Consuela. It's a really good idea to detach as quickly and completely as you can. Knowing they are going to let you go without a backward thought, and that when they are sinking in the pilotless mire of their own making, they won't even make the connection that it was you who kept them on course, your employers don't deserve another thought. Your clients will have to manage without you, too, and that is not your fault.

Your focus has to shift to you, and your future, which no longer includes this job. Let go as soon and as well as you can and look forward, not back.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

FWIW, different field, different country, etc., but hardly anyone has asked me about the really quite large gaps in my resume. If there's an option for a cover letter, maybe mention that you included only relevant experience for the sake of efficiency?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Consuela,

the only note I would make is if you think maintaining these relationships may help you land another job. You might need to pick and choose one to further communicate with if that is the case.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Have a phone meeting at 3. Did research online about the person's work place. Have a list of questions to ask the person on the phone. Followup actions. Organized and all set.

Check the email again, the meeting is on the 16th.

FUCK.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

msbelle IS wise, and Beverly is wise too.
