Knowing they are going to let you go without a backward thought, and that when they are sinking in the pilotless mire of their own making, they won't even make the connection that it was you who kept them on course, your employers don't deserve another thought. FWIW, different field, different country, etc., but hardly anyone has asked me about the really quite large gaps in my resume. If there's an option for a cover letter, maybe mention that you included only relevant experience for the sake of efficiency?

I think making every two characters who spend time together a sexual pairing does oppress the idea of platonic friends, even really good and close friends. But I'm used to that.
When I say oppressed, I'm talking about structural oppression in society, which is something romantic partnerships of a same-sex nature face, and friendships just don't.
