But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

We just had another round of layoffs here. Again, I dodged the bullet (as did everyone on my team - we're currently the revenue generators, at least for the foreseeable future), but it's still a gut punch. Some folks who'd been here quite a while too.

Wow, are things just not bouncing back for your industry, or is this a more generalized slash-and-burn corporate philosophy?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

No laying off Buffistas! Stop it, companies!

It's supposed to hit 80 here today, so I came to work in short sleeves and no jacket. And then I put on my office sweater because it's chilly in here. But if it's even half as nice today as it was yesterday, my spring/summer tradition of walking down to the Hudson for lunch can continue!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry, Frank. Glad you came through it okay, but I know that's hard even so.

And interview~ma to msbelle.

I am in a blah mood today and feel like all my cute clothes are too big or too small, so I'm all in gray and every time I look down and see that the grays don't quite match I think "Three Shades of Gray" and wonder of that counts as making a reference. I don't think my coffee is working.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sinuses are afire again. And I have meetings I can't work out how to miss, but I am useless so far this morning.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I like the Bert and Ernie thing. Especially now, when I've been single for 14 years and it looks like it's gonna stay that way.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I thought my computer weather doodad was telling me it was already 87 here, but then I realized that the weather doodad is next to my Gmail notifer, and I have 87 unread emails. I feel a little better about that, because 87 degrees on April 9th is NUTS. (It is, however, 70.)

Also, Nutella rice krispie treats ZOMG.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We were supposed to get snow on Friday. Now the forecast is for rain mixed with snow.

Friday is April 12th, Mother Nature.

Speaking of Nutella, anyone want to admit to anything? This is a safe space, honest: [link]

I'm not entirely sure why Bert and Ernie have a particular uncoupley chemistry, and despite planning on being unmated for the rest of my life, I don't see why friendship deserves equality. It's a different thing. Just...different. What would equality look like? What's the win in this scenario?
