ok - 10 am interview tomorrow. only good thoughts - so I am getting out my vent now...
It is 6pm and I am still at work. I had to call my parents to go over to be with mac so that McPhee could leave.
The damn presentations that I had to get printed are just NOW sent to the FedEx office. Or that is to say, half of them are. The other half are in various states of printed/collated/side-bound stapled here at work, because sending them all out for printing/binding was deemed too expensive.
As it is the printing/binding was over $1000, and therefore over my p-card limit, so I had to put them on a personal card in order to get them done! It took so long to get them off to the printer, because 1)The decision on how many to bind and whatnot was not made until after 9am. 2)the presentations themselves were a mess different fonts, misnumbered TOCs, headings inconsistent from presentation to presentation and sometimes within the same one 3) The bound packets are 7-8 presentations put together and I had to build them up on the FedEx website, but then if I had to leave to do other work (2 lunches to have delivered/set-up/and one lunch where I had to be present) (also my big boss' staff meeting although he was not here which is an hour and I had to prepare docs for) - well that time away, timed me out of the website and I lost the structure and settings I had built up. - That one is one me.
Anyhoo - I have the last stack to take home, collate, and staple. I have begged a co-worker to pick up the ones from Fed-Ex office at 7am, since I cannot drop mac off until 7:20 - AND the room for them tomorrow is already all set up.
I am going home and having some bourbon.
Timelies all!
msbelle, you deserve that drink.
Ugh, msbelle, why is it always like that?? You definitely deserve the drink.
I'm not entirely sure why I thought tumblring with my real name was a good idea. When someone uses that name in a reply to me, I think I hackle faster. A female friend of the artist that drew that picture of the woman being ogled at the con messaged me with support for him and his intentions, and it immediately feels like a more personal conversation.
From which I'm not backing down. But weird.
msbelle, it seems unfortunate that the appropriate amount of bourbon for that situation is contradindicated by the existence of Tuesday.
In this case, bourbon seems like a definite YAY, if not a flat out necessity.
Ugh msbelle, sorry to hear about the crazy hectic day, but yay for the going home to bourbon and double yay to the interview.
if not a flat out necessity
Oh, definitely a necessity. What a day, msbelle. What I don't understand is how little they value you for juggling so much stuff all the time.
Didn't need to say it twice.
I am trying not to be super bitter about this other part. One of the other admins got pulled into a week long training class for project management. Not only does that take away some back-up support for me in a cray cray busy week, BUT it is prepping her to take the Project Management Certification course - a respected certification that could get her a leg up on looking for a job elsewhere - something I would REALLY LIKE. I have not been encouraged to take any concrete skills training. Granted she has been here a lot longer than me. not bitter not bitter - happy for her opportunity.
Ugh, msbelle, enjoy the bourbon. Sorry about the crap.
I have too much crap to figure out.
