Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not entirely sure why I thought tumblring with my real name was a good idea. When someone uses that name in a reply to me, I think I hackle faster. A female friend of the artist that drew that picture of the woman being ogled at the con messaged me with support for him and his intentions, and it immediately feels like a more personal conversation.

From which I'm not backing down. But weird.

msbelle, it seems unfortunate that the appropriate amount of bourbon for that situation is contradindicated by the existence of Tuesday.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

In this case, bourbon seems like a definite YAY, if not a flat out necessity.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh msbelle, sorry to hear about the crazy hectic day, but yay for the going home to bourbon and double yay to the interview.

Because books.

if not a flat out necessity

Oh, definitely a necessity. What a day, msbelle. What I don't understand is how little they value you for juggling so much stuff all the time.

Because books.

Didn't need to say it twice.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am trying not to be super bitter about this other part. One of the other admins got pulled into a week long training class for project management. Not only does that take away some back-up support for me in a cray cray busy week, BUT it is prepping her to take the Project Management Certification course - a respected certification that could get her a leg up on looking for a job elsewhere - something I would REALLY LIKE. I have not been encouraged to take any concrete skills training. Granted she has been here a lot longer than me. not bitter not bitter - happy for her opportunity.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Ugh, msbelle, enjoy the bourbon. Sorry about the crap.

I have too much crap to figure out.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh joy, what did Monday bring me? Three hours of sleep, a desperate need for short and a tank top in the heat spike, cramps, and, oh yeah, on my bread run at lunch I got a ticket. The cop said that I should call about the court date because it's never what's on the ticket. But that's only if I want to contest the ticket, which I don't. I deserve that ticket, I own that ticket. I want to make my misery go away with money. (I can't remember the last time I got a ticket, but they never pointed out the court date before, and the necessity of it isn't marked, it says I can just pay).

So, question is, do I still need to call? Or is making my payment tomorrow enough? (I tried paying today after work, but the website isn't accepting my ticket number. How long does it take for them to enter it into the system?)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Of late, Biyi's been watching this period drama-slash-soap opera set in the harem of one of the emperors of the Qing dynasty. It's all in Chinese, so I have only a basic understanding of what's going on, but to an outside eye it seems to be a strangely compelling blend of Survivor, The Bachelor, and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My masseuse beat the crap out of my shoulders, and now I want to take an epsom salt bath, but everything is packed.
