"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, I am so not getting the other stuff on my list done. Life, why so complicated? But hey, taxes. I think I'll refocus on housecleaning now, because I can do that in little dribs and drabs.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have officially put away the edger, no more yard work today for me. Maybe another round of dishes, perhaps some laundry sorting.

Of course, the big question for me today is which do I watch first, Mad Men or Game of Thrones? I'm leaning towards Game of Thrones at the moment, but I've got a couple more hours to dither.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

A caterer/lunch counter near me (since closed down) used to serve a grilled cheese sandwich with basil pesto, sauteed onions and mushrooms, and sliced tomato. It was awesome!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

One of my favorite sandwiches is from a cafe near my office - tuna, capers, olives, pesto, and fresh mozzarella on a baguette, toasted in a panini press.

Of course, the big question for me today is which do I watch first, Mad Men or Game of Thrones?

I've already seen both eps and I would vote for watching GoT first, but either order is excellent.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We finally hired an accountant last year since the DH has so much travel and freelance stuff. It was great, except THIS year they informed us that they made a mistake last year and we owed an extra $4,000 for 2011. They are paying the charges and fees, but we have to come up with the money, which we don't have and are putting on a credit card. Not great news when I am unemployed and all. I think THEY should pay it all, since it was their mistake, but apparently since we underpaid and had the money all last year, they don't have to. Sucks.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

what business is going to ignore an unpaid balance because you gave an employee a tip??

Right? It's not like slipping free drinks at a bar (not that I know about that personally, if that's cracked down on, too --I think my brother's do that).

But feeling obligated, or being order to give up your tips just seems wrong. Yeah, they're not waiters who live off of tips, but the tipper obviously thought they were doing something worth more than just the basic fare. And we're a non-profit, so it's not like our salaries or paychecks are awesome.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would imagine there's an official policy, if you guys host parties like that regularly?

Go, Lee! Growing food seems like magic.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

what business is going to ignore an unpaid balance because you gave an employee a tip??

I can't imagine anyone is tipping with that in mind.

But they are also not doing it with the organization's general budget in mind. If employees are required to hand them over, and the tippers are not being told that fact, I'd consider that extremely shady, if not outright fraudulent.

Great! And now I have a plan.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Either you have a clear "No Tipping" policy, or employees get to keep tips.
