Sue, that would be so cool!

Yay for the interview, msbelle!
I need to get to work on my grading. Fie! I just want to drink coffee.
Ooh, that sounds cool, Sue! A friend of mine is getting ready to rent her house furnished for a year, and was saying it's a good thing she has too much room in the house anyway, because she can put her personal stuff in one of the bedrooms and just lock it. Who has too much space?? People who live in Lancaster, PA, apparently.
I sent my old coworker my resume a week ago for a job at her current work, and haven't heard anything back. Should I check in with her? Or just let it go? The job would be her boss, as far as I can tell, for what that's worth.
Oh, coffee. I am on day four of can't eat from menstrual unpleasantness, so the SO is out on a soup run for me, but coffee still sounds good.
Go, msbelle!
That's a very exciting prospect, Sue!
I've applied for two positions with the company I'm temping for, and I think I'm going to apply for an open finance position at the refinery my dad used to work for, because maybe they'll recognize my last name and that will give me an edge...
I cleverly packed myself a thermos full of chicken broth to sip on today (I've been fighting a sore throat all week) and it is so delicious.
Oo, very exciting Sue!
I am applying for a job that's a year term in London. It's an archives job at a theatre, so I would be a good fit.
I want that for you so much!
Fingers crossed on the interview, msbelle.
Brava, msbelle! I think an external position is preferable, if they can meet your salary needs. Shake the dust of this place off your feet!
Me, I haven't applied for any jobs this week: there aren't a ton of positions open right now, and what there is, would require a move. But I've revised and revised my resume and I'm sending it out to friends and former coworkers.
I wonder if I could set up as a freelance consultant? I'm absolutely killer at QA, and if I could get, say, 24 hours/week doing QA work, that would be nice. Except for the whole health insurance thing. I wonder when California's health exchanges get started?
Thanks guys. In my head, I have already half moved to London, even though I think they want someone with a slightly more technical/PM background than mine. I have to work on the application this weekend.
There is a part of the application that asks for ethnicity info. They say it's to track for diversity and equal opportunity policies and is removed from application before evaluation is made. Under the "White" ethnicities there are three choices: English, Irish, and "Any other white background." I LOL'd for about an hour over that.
Man, employers are going to have to treat their staff SO much better once the health exchanges get started. Its worth if for that alone.
