Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Fuck yeah, msbelle! That's fabulous!

I've given myself no more than 6 months to get out, regardless if I have a new job or not. Even if I get a job tomorrow, there's work that needs to be done to make it rentable.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

If I were intending to move, the first thing I'd do is rent a nearby storage unit and start boxing up all my books, and move out all the stuff in boxes from the cellar. And then put the emptied bookcases in storage. That would probably free up a shit-ton of room....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Fish AND popcorn should not be allowed in communal microwaves.

I did work somewhere where popcorn was officially and explicitly not allowed.

I am trying to focus on being more organised, and overtly more organised, myself. But the face of msbelle I know is an organised one, that's for sure.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The top of my desk (both of them, really) looks like somebody killed the paper blob there. Yet I know where everything is in the apparently random stacks of paper, and having stuff near at hand like that is essential to me keeping on top of managing the art for my current project. And since I'm releasing material on time without anything going missing, and despite the client getting info to me later than promised, I'd say the system works.

Because books.

I have a problem being organized if I can't see things. I used to keep manuscripts in rows based on pub dates and stages of production, and I had schedules posted up over my desk. Here, we don't have desks, and not even assigned seats, so everything comes home at the end of the day and I hate it. All of my work aside from a printed style manual reference is on the computer, and it's really hard for me to keep track. Out of sight is really out of mind for me.

Even better!! Go you!!!

It took many, many years, but I'm finally working mostly paperless. My computer files could probably only be understood by me...but that is my secret. I do have a pile of paper on my desk at work that I'm not allowed to toss due to pending legal action on that project. It is stupid cause they aren't originals or anything.

hip deep in pie

Go msbelle.

I am applying for a job that's a year term in London. It's an archives job at a theatre, so I would be a good fit. (???) Just the thought of having to make my house presentable to rent out for a year gives me the wiggins.

Sue, that would be so cool!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay for the interview, msbelle!

I need to get to work on my grading. Fie! I just want to drink coffee.
