Let him do his thing, and then you get him out. No messing with him for laughs.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I've totally worn the bamboo many times before. That's the weird part. But damn, having sort of upper leg diaper rash as an adult is not okay.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I found bamboo tights disappointingly uncomfortable.

For days when your ass is grass?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It sounds unpleasant, that's for sure.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Any buffistas know anyone who works at Skadden, Arps?

Nope, though I can give you general info on Law Firm HR if that would help.

I have a friend who worked there many years ago. (He hated it; they sent him to manila for a supposed two-week assignment, which stretched out to months. He refused to stay any longer after his coworker's marriage broke up.) I don't know if he'd have much in the way of contacts there anymore.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I can only tell you that Skadden as a firm should be a pretty intense place. I can't speak to the LA office, or the HR division, but if it matters to you, I would inquire about dress codes and that kind of thing. It's a client-facing business, and Skadden is not one of the firms with a laidback/lifestyle reputation.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thanks, Bon. I worked at Weil, Gotschal in NYC in the 90s, and it was definitely a high pressure buttoned-up environment. Great benefits, though.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

greatest maths professor

Yep. I'd study math with a professor like that.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I spent a hot and sweaty afternoon cutting bamboo once, and ended up with welts all over my hands and arms. Apparently sweat and bamboo slivers are a bad combo for me. I never tried bamboo cloth because I figured it could cause a similar reaction.

I think that once your body is sensitized to allergens, due to a spring tree orgy or whatever, other things that aren't usually much of a problem can be more so. Kind of like someone who's only mildly annoying on a regular day sending you into a rage spiral if you've had a few nights of insomnia.
