I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It's Scola Day? Many happy returns, Tom!

Because books.

Happy birthday, Tom!

I thought I heard that Santana's career may be over.

hwæt

His contract with the Mets is up after this year, and I doubt the Mets would resign him even if he could play.

Because books.

At this point, I'm not sure the Mets would be able to sign me. Should be an interesting season.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The A's haven't signed anyone to a multi-year mega contract since Eric Chavez and his last few contract years sucked. My biggest issue is with the A's owners. They are so concentrated on moving the team and putting money into that effort that no money goes onto the field. Yes, I'm bitter.

Happy Birthday, Scola. May the day have you blinding people with your wonderful smile.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy birthday, Tom!

I like to listen to a song by the Weakerthans (thanks Sue) called One Great City. It has a line in it that I modify to, I. Hate. Everything.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They are so concentrated on moving the team and putting money into that effort that no money goes onto the field. Yes, I'm bitter.

They came out of nowhere and outbid all of baseball to nab Yoenis just last year, Suzi. And they bid pretty high on Aroldis Chapman too. I think the A's were burned by Chavez's contract and also believe that (a) they can't attract power hitters to the Coli (which will depress their numbers) and (b) investing in the downside of some guy's career is a mug's game. They've got a good core and their last draft was their best in a decade with a real influx of talent. Despite their lackluster start I think they're in better shape this year than the Rangers.
