Let him do his thing, and then you get him out. No messing with him for laughs.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The A's haven't signed anyone to a multi-year mega contract since Eric Chavez and his last few contract years sucked. My biggest issue is with the A's owners. They are so concentrated on moving the team and putting money into that effort that no money goes onto the field. Yes, I'm bitter.

Happy Birthday, Scola. May the day have you blinding people with your wonderful smile.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I like to listen to a song by the Weakerthans (thanks Sue) called One Great City. It has a line in it that I modify to, I. Hate. Everything.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They came out of nowhere and outbid all of baseball to nab Yoenis just last year, Suzi. And they bid pretty high on Aroldis Chapman too. I think the A's were burned by Chavez's contract and also believe that (a) they can't attract power hitters to the Coli (which will depress their numbers) and (b) investing in the downside of some guy's career is a mug's game. They've got a good core and their last draft was their best in a decade with a real influx of talent. Despite their lackluster start I think they're in better shape this year than the Rangers.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, Tom!

Mucho job~ma to msbelle.

My event went well last night! Speaker was funny, we ended things at just under 2 hours, many of my former students were there, and three of them won prizes! Including one I'm so happy for: he won first prize in fiction, and he had just lost his father. And his best friend won 2nd place as it so happens.

Kudos!

(I just like typing that. Though for Teppy I'd say: "Kodos!")

Happy day, Tom. Treat yourself nice.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Scola, I wish you well every day, but make it extra good today, eh?

I think work is giving me indigestion. Either that or my crap diet. Focus. I need focus.

Why am I here?
