They recently changed our time off rules to where we can't take any paid time off during pay period where we have overtime. I'm salaried, not hourly, but get overtime for any client work over 80 hours/two weeks. I see not adding paid time off to a day with overtime, but if I've worked 90 hours over 9 days, why can't I take the 10th day as paid time off? No, I can take the day off (without pay) and get paid the 90 hours.
Vortex,
go on with your bad self! Congratulations.
I'd take comp time over overtime as a policy as a rule, but then again, I do not put in overtime much at all.
Way to go Vortex!
We get 60 hours of sick leave or personal time a year, which translates to 10 days off. They accumulate. But if you go out on maternity or need extended time for things like chemo, then you burn through that and then go to half day pay, which you also accumulate at something like 600 hours a year. When you leave, you get paid out for any sick leave or personal time, but not for half time pay.
Of course we also get school holidays.
The suck ass part is that when you are gone, it takes FOREVER to plan what someone else should do. Unless you have the gumption to say, "I don't care if they have a lost day!" Or when the kids were born, I said, "I don't care if they have a lost 8 weeks!" Now, though, if you get evaluated based on test scores, it may matter more.
Woohoo, Vortex! Congrats!
Congratulations, Vortex! Rock on with your bad self!
Good for you, Vortex! Congratulations! Now go smack that imposter syndrome down!
VORTEX!
And now I really go to bed, I'm exhausted.
Vortex, you're good enough, you're smart enough, and, gosh darn it, people like you!
Congratulations.
