if you can't trust random strangers on the internet, who can you trust?

Random strangers on the internet who say you can trust random strangers on the internet?

....on April Fool's Day.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I unfollowed someone on Tumblr because their idea of funny was twenty five flashing animated GIFs with Misha Collins' face superimposed on everything, and I doubt I'll remember to add them back. I have fallen for one online link, and almost reposted it before I realised that today it's a prank--tomorrow it will be a joke, so I'll do it then, maybe.

I brought some of the cookie press product into work--the ones that didn't break, and they're harder to get rid of than they should be. But I did find one guy whose birthday it was, so five of those suckers gone at once. Apparently "hey! I have birthday cookies for you!" startles people.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is it just me, or is ThinkGeek's April Fools Day selections a little disappointing this year?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The car decal is perfection to me.

I know! I would buy the hell out of that. (As opposed to just buying it. Just buying stuff is for chumps.)

Nothing is working right, I have a massive rash or huge dry skin patch all over my throat, I woke up too damned early and bleah.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The only thing I've actually fallen for is the Somerville Local First (promotes local spending) announcing they're partnering with a new Walmart store that's moving in soon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got a little thrown off because our internal newsletter had one fake story in it. I kind of thought it would be all or nothing, so when I got to the ridiculous one, I scanned back over the rest.

I ate too much candy. Don't let me go to CVS for the next couple of days, OK?

Also: there is NO Walmart store moving in. There was a to-do last year with a significant citizen outcry when Walmart submitted a request to have a store in a new shopping district going up, but it ended up with the mayor and city aldermen elbowing each other aside to denounce it most loudly. So the SLF announcement worked on two levels, that the Walmart project was back (and had somehow slipped through) and that the SLF was selling out.
