My cynical response is that Conservatives have known for a while that acceptance of gay marriage was a generational battle that they could not win. The numbers were never going to be there with the younger generation being so accepting of it.

I've been watching Downton Abbey at the gym on phones and ipads. Oh my. It does make time go by on the elliptical. But it's so soapy! Also, by does the show hate Lady Edith so much? I knew that she would never get to marry.
