Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Hmm. Maybe Lakeview Immediate Care. I'll call and see if they can do x-rays.

Edit: And they do. I'm going to register now on their website and go in the morning.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh. My cat just had a seizure! And of course I have no idea if he's ever had one before, because I'm really only at home awake a small bit of the time. He seems more or less OK, so call the vet Monday? Poor boo.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck with the hand, shrift. I have no advice.

Nor do I have device about mixing muffins. I am a chronic over mixer and honestly don't notice the reputed ill effects. But the folding-things-into-egg-whites-to-make-souffles instructional videos seem to advocate 4 strokes, so three seems excessively meagre.

Eta: poor kitty! No advice there, either.

hip deep in pie

Poor Homer. I'd keep an eye on him and wait until Monday if nothing else happens.

I thought he was hilariously chasing his tail, like a fucking cliche, but then he got a little more spastic. Yipes.

I was about to make corn muffins and chili, but now I just want to sit here with the poor cat!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Three strokes gets you way too little mixing. Like ita !, I mix carefully until there's no more dry visible, and then stop.

The Ikea run gave us two bureaus and a nightstand (all, oddly enough, exactly the same as the bureau & nightstand I have in my bedroom), two chairs and a small sturdy kitchen table, a plant stand, and a reading lamp. And we spent an hour assembling things and only got a little bit done. I'll have to go back tomorrow and do some more--the bureaus are going to take hours.

And of course Mom was upset that we took her shopping opportunity away from her, but seriously, taking her through Ikea would have killed me. I did buy her chocolate as a bribe.

She gets to pick the shower curtain.

Tomorrow is my one parent-free day of the next week. I think I will go see James Bond, or Lincoln.

I wish I could come over to help assemble. I love that shit. Tip from putting together my coffee table this morning: Every time I was having trouble screwing something in, I found a screwdriver tip that made it easy. The instructions said nothing, and I'm glad I have a screwdriver with a bunch of tips.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I mix carefully until there's no more dry visible, and then stop.

When I first started mixing baked goods by hand I had a terrible habit of leaving nuggets of baking powder or baking soda and that bothers me 20 years later.

But if I halve the strokes I'll still be well over 4, so I'll make sure there's plenty of wet, and mix dramatically less than before.

I was going to use this batch to switch to 1/2 whole wheat flour. We shall see.

She gets to pick the shower curtain

That seems proportionally appropriate. You're in the home stretch, 'Suela. You'll probably need some time to decompress when the move-in is over, but it's getting closer and closer.

eta: Jesse, I'd think a lot of kitty sitting also seems reasonable, nay dictated.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I've always been told to mix as little as possible. And while you want to get it mostly mixed, going for every fleck of flour is not useful. I'm going on rumor though because I don't really bake.

He seems more or less OK, so call the vet Monday?

Kittenish had a seizure years ago. She wandered around a little confused for a bit but then was fine. I'd totally call the vet Monday but if Homer is acting okay, I think you can wait until then. I also know it's really scary. I'm sorry.

Thanks. He does seem more or less OK.
