Heck, for my eye surgery as soon as they started to try to sell me on the medical loan or whatever I was like "is there a discount for cash?" And bam, 5% off. But that's an elective procedure. For hospital though, if it weren't an emergency I'd totally try to bargain if I didn't have insurance. I mean, those EOBs clearly show insurance knocking off tons. At my old chiropractor I had insurance for a while and was paying something like $30 copay plus insurance paid $10. Posted rate was like $60. Lost the insurance, went to them and said "I'll pay $40 up front each time which is what you were getting anyway and no billing for you" and they agreed. But again--wasn't desperate. So easier.

Argh, indeed. On Friday it will be a month since I interviewed.
Now the developer has sent an email saying she worked out what is the problem (and it has nothing to do with me, remarkably) and I don't have the energy to read it. I think I'll read the scary stuff from the new director who wants things from me I don't understand. Yeah, I'll do that instead.
