yeah, contra dancing. I'm afraid it would be yet another activity where I like the activity way more than the other people who do it, which is already true of all of my hobbies
Hah. Entirely possible. Though you don't have to do toooooo much talking to participate. (Now I'm wondering what your other activities are! Do you not like cowboys, Jesse?)
Poor meara.
I'm afraid it would be yet another activity where I like the activity way more than the other people who do it, which is already true of all of my hobbies!
Ha! This is me too, about everything. I don't just get into things, I obsess about things. Which is fine, except for when the things are people, and they're all, hey, dude, back off, I just met you, and I'm all, but you're so awesome, tell me all the contents of your head!
Fortunately my current obsession (cigar box guitars) seems to be only done by other people who are a) completely obsessed with it and b) want you to learn how to do it too. So it's a lot of fun, and people are very helpful.

Heh -- I didn't even mean that. I like the activity but don't like the people! Which means they don't lead to making friends....
(Now I'm wondering what your other activities are! Do you not like cowboys, Jesse?)
Nah, but singing soprano and doing crosswords come immediately to mind. (I do have a feeling I'd like the altos better.)

I mentioned to (my) Sara that I knew someone who loved crossword puzzles and went to tournaments, and she was fascinated. (She likes to help me when I'm doing them.)
I always thought the altos were cooler when I sang soprano. I actually asked to switch and my chorus teacher was like WTF?
I am loving hearing about the cigar box guitars, Liese, especially after helping Isaac to make a dorky cardboard guitar for his class project. I could definitely see getting into it--it's crafty AND it makes music! Win-win!
Oh, I see what you mean! Yeah. I don't like the people. But that applies to all people, because I am a cranky old sod at 37.
I saw Isaac's guitar, Burrell, it came out so great! He could totally make a cigar box guitar.
It's funny, because I can see myself just getting more and more into it until it's kinda ridiculous. This is probably not how you're going to be making your living, self, you do not need to spend all your money on getting set up!
However, I seem to have no shortage of people who want them (not realizing, perhaps, how easy it would be to make them themselves) as I have four current projects lined up, including the one on the bench now. So in the meanwhile, yay, fun!
I just finished making my hide glue heating rig. I'm testing it now to make sure it gets to the right temperature.
So next up, animal fumes!
I just got an email from my boss that she wants to talk to me tomorrow. No indication what it's about. And now she's left for the day so I can't ask her.
Great. Now I'm going to fret for 24 hours.
Timelies all!
Considering that the day started with me dropping a cup of kibble all over the kitchen floor, and having to clean up cat hork, it hasn't been too bad today.
