May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I also never mastered no getting hit in the face with the ball. I still haven't, although I have recently (like at 35) mastered catching something rather than ducking!

I had a secret love for the Virginia Reel and all square dancing. The only problem was the whole picking people, getting picked, etc-- that was awful. But once that was over, and especially if it was with friends, I had a ball! In fact, in high school a group of friends and I went square dancing regularly and it was SO MUCH FUN

I liked the Virginia Reel! And watching Downton Abbey made me want to go line dancing or square dancing or whatever.

Try contra dancing! Lots of fun and not too hard.

I have no bananas or saltines in the house. Was planning a whole "eat healthy with spinach and oranges and fish" thing (um, not all at the same time) Though after not eating other than brunch yesterday, I weighed myself this morning and the second number on the scale changed. Which was cool, if unsustainable.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I took tap dance as PE through high school. Except for 9th grade. I only remember basketball in 9th grade, but we probably did other things. In middle school I went to a tiny private school. We did handball, basketball, gymnastics, and fencing.

Because books.

I didn't mind the square dancing -- I mean, it was better than getting beaned during bombardment -- but it's not exactly a *useful* skill. Knot-tying and climbing are practical!

Do you have any applesauce, meara? Even just plain toast might work.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I just did a reference call for one of my previous students for a faculty position. It was the shortest reference call I have ever done and the questions were terribly written. I don't know what this says about the institution, but I am mildly anxious.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Try contra dancing! Lots of fun and not too hard.

Oh yeah, contra dancing. I'm afraid it would be yet another activity where I like the activity way more than the other people who do it, which is already true of all of my hobbies!

Do you have broth, meara? Or an egg? I feel like bland protein is good for what ails you. (Whatever ails you.)

meara - Feb 25, 2013 11:25:27 am PST #12713 of 30001

I went with what I had semi-planned for dinner: fish and green beans. Lunch had been planned to involve lots of sweet peppers. NSM. I'm hoping that after the dry toast breakfast some of this is just hunger nausea and not any actual sick. I hope.

Hah. Entirely possible. Though you don't have to do toooooo much talking to participate. (Now I'm wondering what your other activities are! Do you not like cowboys, Jesse?)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Poor meara.

I'm afraid it would be yet another activity where I like the activity way more than the other people who do it, which is already true of all of my hobbies!

Ha! This is me too, about everything. I don't just get into things, I obsess about things. Which is fine, except for when the things are people, and they're all, hey, dude, back off, I just met you, and I'm all, but you're so awesome, tell me all the contents of your head!

Fortunately my current obsession (cigar box guitars) seems to be only done by other people who are a) completely obsessed with it and b) want you to learn how to do it too. So it's a lot of fun, and people are very helpful.

Heh -- I didn't even mean that. I like the activity but don't like the people! Which means they don't lead to making friends....

(Now I'm wondering what your other activities are! Do you not like cowboys, Jesse?)

Nah, but singing soprano and doing crosswords come immediately to mind. (I do have a feeling I'd like the altos better.)
