"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Is this a Joseph Gordon Levitt thing?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No, but in it there's a little boy who's crazy good at math. He turns out to be a powerful telekinetic and maybe a crime lord, so you might want to keep an eye out.

I don't know that Noah is crazy good at math. He just likes it. A lot. And he wants to know how and why it works. But if shit starts moving at his will around the house, I'll let you know.

Oh, Noah. I was so glad to get to meet them this summer.

Cool.

I'm not good for much these days, but I've always wondered if I'd be able to help if something like that happened. I mean, I've done a lot of preparatory reading.

I spoke to a woman at my neurologist's office. I told her I'd been getting random and insufficient treatment at the ER which was forcing me to blow hours and money getting admitted weekly to the hospital, and she sounded like she thought that was a bad thing, and she'd have the neuro call me.

Pain specialist also needs to call me back, because I don't know if I'm supposed to refill what I have or not. I'm just floating without advice.

When I turned on the TV it was on one of the Twilight movies. Apparently Jacob has long hair??? I feel almost guilty that actually seeing them makes the stuff people say about them sound insufficiently cruel. I don't care how much RPattz hates the role and disrespects the fans--he's making a shitload of money and fame acting shittily, and I'm not sure why Kristen gets so much more bad press. They're both ridiculous.

Whatever the Twilight mocking movie is, it looks more and more accurate.

Soaked in rum, nobody cares.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Just in the first one, I think. (I haven't seen the movies, but in the books, it's a major plot point when he cuts his hair toward the beginning of the second one.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I thought he grew it out again later because he thought Bella liked it better that way. Or wait? Is that considered a spoiler? Should I whitefont?

My guess is that raisin pies started being called funeral pies because they could be made at short notice.

Ginger, that makes so much sense. And I would never have thought of raisins as a primary pie filling- I don't think I'd have bought it as raisin pie. But it really is reconstituted raisins, and it was delicious. The context makes it even better.

It's 3:30 pm and I've been out wandering around Cairns since about8:30. Met up with the family, the boys had been in the lagoon since 9:30ish. Ate some Vietnamese spring rolls, had a cider ( I swear, I just eat and booze my way through trips) as I watched them, bought some original aboriginal art and a few other things. Probably jump in the pool with the boys for a bit. Family will do a fairly early dinner, given the taxi picks us up at 5 am, but I think I might tell sleep to go to hell and go talk to strangers.
