Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Wow - that is something in this ever-prying news world.

I continue to feel like shit, but part of me just thinks it is a cold on top of the bronchitis and I am being a giant wimp.

Announcement at work that affects our group is no bueno, but at least not a firing. I guess? that is kinda how we are all taking it. The one person in the core values giant fiasco that did not get fired, just suspended, he is coming in as an interim Director for the department that was vacated for someone to cover his ob. They switched places, but it is not a equal switch - the suspended guy is kinda moving up which seems sooooooo wrong.

Because books.

I'd put that on Good Stuff. That's awesome. What a good mom.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My sinuses seem to actually be draining (sorry if that's gross, but they were like concrete for 5 weeks) today. It can't be the antibiotic already, so it must be the Flonase. How about that.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Awesome Teppy.

As to Von Teese - I think luck always plays some role in that level of success. But to get that level of luck normally (not always, but normally) you have to have done a hell of a lot right. It just that even if you have looks and talent and preservere and use smart strategy, you still may not get ahead. But that bit of luck is a lot more likely to do some good if you have been doing everything right already.

To take another example, Gretchen Wilson lived a pretty hard life until she was discovered in a bar by someone famous. But she was still putting herself out there playing in bars, was a great performer to be discovered. If by some freak circumstance I'd been in that bar blaying that day with my inability to carry tune in a bucket, I would not have been 'discovered'. Also since I don't play, there is no way I'd have been in that bar. So it was luck but that luck would not have done Wilson any good if she had not been putting herself out there and had not had talent. On the other hand, if the guy who discovered her had not chosen to drink in that bar on than day. Wilson still might be working as a bartender, and playing in bars and clubs whenever she could get the chance.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow - that is something in this ever-prying news world.

It was 30+ years ago, for what that's worth.

This isn't Good Stuff appropriate, but it's really sweet

That is sweet. I do try to avoid stuff that could come with a trigger warning.

Jesse, did anyone submit the article about the man who got his dog back from the pound because of photos posted on Facebook?

(Note: that story has ensured that I will NEVER STOP CRYING. It has a happy ending! And still I'm teary about it.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have not seen that story!

Also, for what it's worth, Bikers Against Child Abuse is the most-popular Good Stuff post again today. The few super-popular ones keep going around in waves.
