At least you sound sick, instead of just feeling sick? (I am a firm believer in sympathy.)
Ooh, Amy, I wish we had chair massages here. There's a department that does them occasionally, but I don't get invited for that....
I am vaguely out-of-sorts, maybe nauseous, but not quite. I hope that doesn't mean I'm about to be sick. It does mean I can't think of what to have for lunch.
I would love a massage girl, but they'd never do it. Private industry, on the other hand... Speaking of which, I spoke to an old co-worker yesterday (he was inviting me to the reception celebrating the opening of their new office) and he told me to let him know first if I don't get this job.
Which was nice.
What was also nice was walking from my car to the office today, a lovely woman stopped me to tell me she thought I looked really totally put together and awesome. Total stranger! I pointed out that I hadn't ironed my slacks, but she was so insistent, it was kind of funny.
For the record, I was wearing a burgundy car-coat and my black cashmere pashmina wrapped around my neck, trouser jeans, and a pair of brown booties. I suspect it's really the hair that caught her attention--usually when I get comments from strangers, it's because of my hair.
Supernatural day
Seriously, in the shower this morning, I thought "It's Arrow day!" And when I shamefacedly confessed that to Tim, he said, "I thought the same thing!"
When we watch Arrow, we get the commercials for SPN, and (since I've never watched it), the commercials lead me to think, depending on the episode, that it is the wackiest show EVAR, or the freakiest show EVAR. I assume it's both.
Slept like crap. I feel like if I closed my eyes for a minute, I'd be napping sitting straight up.
I did get some lotion with vitamin E for my knee and have been doing light massage (it is still real tender). Thanks for the suggestions. It feels better already...not normal yet, but not as bad as it had been. I still feel pathetic at all this pain from basically a skinned knee.
THE MASSAGE GIRL IS HERE. I mean, yes, it's just 15-minute shoulder massages, but I WILL TAKE ONE THANK YOU.
So jealous! We used to have those but they were discontinued several years back during one of our cutback phases. I guess if it was a choice between monthly massages and weekly bagels I'm glad we kept the bagels, but still.
it's because of my hair.
Because it's beautiful and striking. But I think you usually dress very well too.
I finished a big deadline a day early, found out the library book I'd had for an extra month or so had never been scanned in the first place so no fine, and have a coupon for a free pizza to eat while watching SPN tonight. Life is good!
Thanks, Hec! I don't know if I'm particularly fashionable, but I think I've found something that works for me. If only (as I told that woman this morning) I could have figured this out when I was 25!
Have a baby quokka being hand-raised by a zookeeper:

SO CUTE.
I love it when that happens, Consuela. You sound stylish today!
the wackiest show EVAR, or the freakiest show EVAR. I assume it's both
Also the most heart-breaking. And the hottest. Should I go on?
I want a quokka!
There is a puppy at work today, and I LOVE her! I just want to eat her up!
